I’m getting quite tired of seeing people freak out on someone because they are homophobic. There are two types of homophobes: There is the type that doesn’t agree with being gay or supporting it, but they show respect. Then there is the type who is just blatantly rude and has absolutely no problem expressing their hatred towards gay people, the disrespectful ones.
Not to be rude, but you have absolutely no right to hate someone for their opinion. I COMPLETELY SUPPORT GAY RIGHTS, but if someone who doesn’t was respectful about their opinions. Fine! Not everyone is going to agree with you. It’s the disrespectful ones that bother me. You hate a homophobe who is respectful because they do not agree with you? What kind of hypocrisy is that? If you want respect for your opinion, show respect for someone else’s.
Now when someone is walking around saying “I hate fags”, THEN you have every right to be like “okay, listen here you dumbass”. But not when they simply have different views than you.
That doesn’t just go for sexual orientation, it goes for all kinds of discrimination. If someone is respectful about what they believe, leave them alone.
You’re just reminding them of the mistakes they made back then. If you watch their facial expression carefully, then you’ll see the hurt in their eyes as they reminisce everything that happened. Never use emotion as a weapon, it strikes deeper than you can imagine.
